Title: "Hypothetical Sin"
Associated Readings: Lamentations 5 and Mark 1:9-15
Date: 31 January 2016
Place: Calvin Presbyterian Church (Linden, NJ)
Theme: Christ calls us to repentance. But what does that mean? Fundamentally, it is about allowing Christ into the places where we hide so that He can transform us fully. The Christian life isn't about hiding from our sins, it's about acknowledging them and opening ourselves up to Christ's forgiveness.

Associated Readings: Gospel of Matthew 19:16-22
Date: 15 November 2015
Place: Trinity Lutheran Church (Jersey City, NJ, USA)
Theme: One of the great condemnations that Jesus brings to the world is that of those who seek to look faithful, but substantively are unwillingly to part with their ego. Jesus seeks authentic, transformative, faith. Simply "following the rules" is not enough.

Title: "Spiritual Thirst"
Associated Readings: 1) John, Chapter 4 and 2) Psalm 42
Date: 7 June 2015
Place: St. Columba's Church of Scotland (London, England, UK)
Theme: I had sensed that many people - myself included - have a very natural thirst for God that they long to have quenched. This thirst for God is not unlike our natural thirst for water or hunger for food. To be complete, we must be nourished. However, we often deny our need for spiritual nourishment.
